Great Flood | |
The 1927 Great Flood damaged many of the Vermont’s 1,258 bridges and caused 35 million dollars in damage. Water flooded over the top of the Fairlee-Orford Bridge but the wooden structure survived. It was the flood of March 1936 that brought an end to the covered bridge. |
